Children in the Program:
Son, Matthew.
Positive Experiences with CAPS:
Getting to know so many wonderful people and being able to network with the other parents. Watching my son gain his independence and the feeling of accomplishment.
Reason to be Involved with CAPS:
I wanted my son to be able to play sports and not have the feeling of being left out when his friends talk about playing baseball. The coaches and staff have the utmost loving and caring personalities and really make all the sports provided fun and family oriented. My son has gained the feeling of accomplishment; independence and his socialization skills have increased greatly. When the board was looking for new members I just felt that it would be a good opportunity for myself to grow with this organization that has so much fun working with all the kids.
How CAPS benefits the Athletes:
With my experience with my son Matthew, C.A.P.S gives children with disabilities a sense of belonging to the community. The children get socialization skills, they are able to work as a team, and most importantly they all have fun. |
